Today on my last day in Monterey I got recognized by my company for persevering and staying positive and (as best as possible) beating cancer so far throughout this ordeal that has been the last six months since my diagnosis. It hasn’t been an easy year so far. I’ve lost my physical fitness and capabilities, I’ve lost my hair, and I’ve at times lost my drive. But I have healed amazingly well all things considered. But as remarkably well as I have done through treatments and everything I can say without a doubt I couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of my company and my army family. Because that’s what this is: it’s not just some job or organization, but through and through they have proven to be family. Words will never be enough to express my gratitude to this company and its soldiers and cadre who have made my journey that much easier. I’m a long way from healthy, but I’ve come so far already because of them. Thank you, Bravo Company, and all of those who compose it, for quite literally helping save my life. Badger pride.
